Terms of trade

The terms that apply to quotations and orders placed with Brass Bells. Last updated 13 October 2026.

01 About these terms

Brass Bells is the brassware business of Sun Shield Store, Pala Road, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India. These terms apply to every quotation and order unless we agree different terms in writing, for example on a proforma invoice. Where a proforma invoice and these terms differ, the proforma invoice applies.

02 Website information and prices

Product photos, weights and dimensions on this website describe the design. Because each piece is hand-cast and hand-finished, the item you receive may vary slightly in weight, size, colour and finish from the one photographed.

Prices shown on the website are estimated wholesale starting prices per unit, for guidance only. Currency conversions are approximate. They are not an offer to sell. The binding price, quantity and delivery terms are those in the quotation or proforma invoice we send you.

03 Quotations and orders

  • A quotation is valid for the period stated on it. Brass prices follow the metal market, so quotes may need updating after that period.
  • An order is confirmed when we receive your written acceptance of the proforma invoice and any agreed advance payment.
  • Minimum order quantities are shown on each product page or in your quotation. Single samples can usually be supplied for quality checks before a bulk order.

04 Custom and made-to-order work

For custom sizes, finishes, relief work or logo castings we will confirm the specification, and where needed a sample or photo approval, before production. Once production of custom work has started, the order cannot be cancelled, and the advance payment covers materials and labour already committed.

05 Payment

Payment terms are stated on the proforma invoice. Typically an advance is paid by international bank transfer to start production, with the balance due before dispatch. Bank charges on your side of the transfer are paid by you. Goods remain our property until paid in full.

06 Shipping, risk and customs

Packing, dispatch times, shipping methods and documents are described in our shipping and export policy. Delivery and transfer of risk follow the Incoterm agreed in your quotation. Unless otherwise agreed, import duties, taxes and customs charges in the destination country are paid by the buyer. Delivery dates are estimates; we are not responsible for delays caused by carriers, customs or events outside our control.

07 Inspection, damage and returns

  • Please inspect goods on arrival. Report transit damage or shortages within 7 days of delivery, with photos of the items and packaging, so we can claim from the carrier and arrange a replacement, repair or credit.
  • Natural variations of hand-cast work, and normal tarnishing of brass over time, are not defects.
  • Because wholesale goods are often made to order, we do not accept returns for change of mind. Custom work cannot be returned unless it differs materially from the approved specification.

08 Designs and intellectual property

Our designs, photographs and website content belong to us and may not be copied without permission. You may use our product photos to sell products bought from us. If you send us your own designs or logos to cast, you confirm you have the right to use them.

09 Liability and law

Our liability for any order is limited to the amount paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, except where the law does not allow this limit. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the courts of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
